Sorry for the site being down for a few days. I went home for the weekend (to work and for General Conference) and while I was gone Rexburg received a lot of snow. The power went out a few times and my computer did not seem to come up properly. My room mates both went to Utah so they were not able to reset it either. It is up and happy now and will hopefully be more reliable till I move it over to a dedicated server. My little VMWare Fusion server has been chugging along pretty nicely though. I’m actually surprised at how well it is working (well, till I got to Rexburg and got a crappy connection).

Fall Colors
One of the things I love the most about this time of year is the beautiful colors which can be seen through Star Valley. Since I have been at school, I have not had many opportunities to take very many photos. On my way home I was able to snap a few photos while driving around the lake. Hopefully when I am home next I will be able to take some good photos and post them to my pictures website. -
Snowmobile Grass Drags
Last Saturday (the 22nd) I attended the snowmobile grass drags at my home town of Freedom. It was fun seeing the powerful sleds race, but the best thing it did for me was get me excited for winter and the riding season once more. -
Two Random Photos Taken On Campus
For my photography class last week we had to go around campus and take a few random photos so we could go back tot he lab and learn how to develop them. I don’t usually do film photography, but since I was taking some photos on campus I thought turned out pretty well, I decided to later bring my digital camera and take some pictures as well. So the following day I brought my camera and took some random shots. -

Sorry that I have not posted anything for a while. The first few weeks of school have been very busy (although I do not believe it is going to slow down any time soon). Fall Harvest (Combining)
Well, it has begun again. The fall grain season. Every year at this time we spend countless hours combining (with two John Deere 6602 combines) and working on the machines so we can get the grain in. I will be coming up on weekends while at school to help finish. I do not have classes on Fridays just for that purpose.
Here are two pictures I took tonight while working. They are not the greatest photos in the world since they were shot with my cell phone, but they work…
Another thing of note, the temperature has started to change (the days feel nice and cool now) and the leaves are starting to change color. In a few weeks I will be able to once again start taking beautiful fall pictures of this beautiful area. Hopefully I will be able to take some time off of school so I will be able to enjoy it.

School
School starts on September 12th, so I will be leaving to Rexburg on the 10th. I have had a great summer, accomplished a lot, and had a lot of fun. Not sure how excited I am to be going back to school again, but hopefully it will be a good semester.

Last Friday (the 24th) I had the privilege of hiking up to the Periodic Spring, located up Swift Creek behind Afton, WY. While being at the spring I was able to take some beautiful pictures, which I will post shortly on my photography page.

Rare Near Installation of Copland DR Tools (Video)
I was looking through some boxes in my closet and came across this old Copland disk. Sparking my curiosity, I looked on my hard drive and found the video I made a few years ago of my attempt at installing this piece of software. I did not quite achieve success at getting it installed, but it did manage to party boot. (more…)
