Feeding Cattle with the Model A

Last year, I used the 630 to feed with. However, I thought it would be fun to try the A as well. I think the A is one of my favorite two-cylinder models.

In this video I’m feeding beef cattle (Herefords and Angus) with the A and a custom-made feeder. The feeder used to be a round bale bagger. I converted it to work with the 3x4x8 large square bales. Bales are loaded with a 3020 PowerShift.

Drone Farm Footage

Ever since I watched the movie “The Straight Story” for a class in college, I’ve had a desire to do aerial photography and videography of events on the farm. I’ve recently purchased the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone, which has been one of the most amazing pieces of technology I’ve used in a long time.  It has more than met my expectations for what I have purchased it for.

Enjoy.  🙂

1939 John Deere A and Spring Baby Calves

Here’s a video that was taken up at the calves.  This video is similar to the previous post, except it has more of the calves and shows the tractor stationary.

Our beef cattle calf in the spring, and we feed them during the summer on the range, so our beef is only Alfalfa and grass/range fed (organic).

Wintertime Feeding Cattle

Even though we sold the dairy a few years ago, we still have a few beef cattle.  It’s kind of fun feeding them when dad isn’t doing it.  Here’s a few random photos of our cattle feeding experiences.
