    April Full MoonYesterday morning’s near full moon was a pretty one. Still quite cold early in the morning, but getting up was well worth it.  This photo is of it setting in the west hills of Freedom, Wy.

    Palisades Reservoir Power PlantLooking though my search logs, it would seem that I receive a good amount of interest in my low light and moonlight photography shots.  Since many of you may be not only interested in low-light photography but also in how to take them, I thought I would write down a few pointers for those that are interested.  Remember this is not a tutorial on night shooting, rather some tips that I have learned from doing it myself.   • Moonlight Night Photography

    Salt River BridgeWhile I was home over the weekend I decided to take advantage of the full moon and take some night shots with the light of the very bright full moon. The shots are of the Salt River bridge in the town of Freedom in Star Valley, Wyoming. I have never done night photography like this before, so it was new and experimental. The shot with some streaks from vehicles was taken the night of the 26th and the other two were taken at 1:30 AM (Saturday morning). I think for being so new at it they actually turned out pretty well. These photos were shot with an Olympus Evolt E-510 Digital SLR.

  • Two Random Photos Taken On Campus

    Campus Library BronzFlower on Campus For my photography class last week we had to go around campus and take a few random photos so we could go back tot he lab and learn how to develop them. I don’t usually do film photography, but since I was taking some photos on campus I thought turned out pretty well, I decided to later bring my digital camera and take some pictures as well. So the following day I brought my camera and took some random shots.

    Last Friday (the 24th) I had the privilege of hiking up to the Periodic Spring, located up Swift Creek behind Afton, WY. While being at the spring I was able to take some beautiful pictures, which I will post shortly on my photography page.Flowing Water 1 (more…)
